Painting, Collage and Mixed Media

Painting has been at the center of my artwork ever since I started making art  with  watercolors as a child.  Over the years I've explored a variety of paper arts and my painting has centered on acrylics and  mixed media works.   I love to work with layers on the surface and rework compositions over extended periods of time letting the composition alter and evolve.  Although my work usually contains recognizable objects, they are not realistically rendered because the work  is about ideas, impressions and feelings, not traditional realism.  Predominant symbols include trees, clouds, birds, spirals, eggs  and nests.
